Elevation Gain: 1350m from Camp 1, 2050m from the main trail
Grade: TD-

A six thousand mountain with one of the most amazing views. Already from the Camp 1 the view is something breath taking as the mountain shares the col with Huascarán. Also quite easy to climb, the route is straight forward, there is one 80-90m wall of 55-65 degrees before the summit.
Itinerary
Day 1: Huaraz-Yungay-Llanganuco Lakes-Portachuelo (4768), Vaqueria-Paria

Car takes you to «Curva de Chopicalqui, km32» (4300m) from where you walk about 4-5h to the morraine camp (4900m).

After walking 15 minutes you reach the glacier from where you walk about 4-5h to Camp 1 (5400m).

Summit day. About 5-7h to the summit and returning to Camp 1 for a lunch and rest and continuing down to morraine camp.

After breakfast walk back to «Curva de Chopicalqui» from where the car takes you back to Hauraz. Arriving to Huaraz around 3-5pm.

What to bring:

Get prepared for heat, sun, rain and cold. Good hiking shoes. Sleeping bag, light daypack, toilet paper, headlamp, personal things, camera, sunscreen, snacks. Water for the first day. Missing something? Ask Galaxia.

Mattress, tent, bag for mules, transfers, local guide services, mules and mule drivers, cook, breakfasts (except for the first day), lunches and dinners (except for the last day), separated kitchen and dinner tents with tables and chairs, toilet tent.
