Pastoruri Glacier
The Pastoruri glacier is located in the southern part of the Cordillera Blanca. This breathtaking trip takes you first on 3,5h bus drive through the southern Ancash reagion, all the way up to close to elevation 5000 meters. Actual walk takes appr.half an hour, trailhead ending inside amazing ice cave. The tour takes a full day.
Chavin ruins
Chavin ruins, Chavin de Huantar is an archaeological site, constructed beginning at least by 1200 BCE and occupied by later cultures until around 400-500 BCE by the Chavin, a major pre-Inca culture. Chavin ruins is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Llanganuco Lakes
Two beautiful lagunas in the Llanganuco Valley (3800 m.a.s.l.), 80km north from Huaraz. In case you don’t feel like hiking but still desire to see some beautiful bits of the Cordillera Blanca, this might be your thing! A one day trip takes you to amazing sceneries via the towns of Carhuaz and Yungay and up to the Llanganuco Valley where you can stroll along the lagunas of Orconcocha and Chinancocha and enjoy the surrounding mountain view.
